Molybdenum provides 500 mcg of molybdenum as Albion® molybdenum glycinate chelate, a highly bioavailable form used as a co-factor for key detoxification enzymes including sulfite oxidase (SUOX), aldehyde oxidase and xanthine oxidase. These enzymes are required for the conversion of sulfites to sulfates and for the breakdown of aldehydes generated from endogenous metabolism, microbial activity and environmental exposure.
Adequate molybdenum status supports sulfur tolerance, histamine-friendly protocols, iron utilisation and hepatic detoxification capacity. It is commonly used in clinical practice where sensitivity to high-sulfur foods, sulfites, alcohol by-products or microbial aldehydes indicates increased demand for SUOX-dependent conversion.
